For this assignment in our Design Class, our class explored Arnold Hall and took pictures of artwork that is found throughout the building that showed various elements of design. I've included a few of my pictures and an explanation of the element down below.

This piece shows the design element of repetition. The image of the woman is repeated in a grid pattern.

This piece actually represents two elements of design. The first element is saturation, which is demonstrated through the intensity and purity of the colors. The second element is after-image. After staring at this piece for an extended period of time, the circles can linger in a person's eyesight for a few seconds when looking away.

This piece represents the element of containment. Each of the major focal points are contained within a structure. Each painting, ball, and even the words are all within the red honey-comb form.

This painting shows the element focal point. The girl figure is the focal point in this piece because she stands out from the colored background because she is the only thing with form in the piece. She immediately draws the attention of the viewer.
