Many modern designs contain geometric elements, including shapes, angles, and sequences. For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a visual design that contains geometric elements using a song of our choice. My song choice was "Pools" by Glass Animals.
"Pools" was released on April 17th, 2014 and is the third song on the band's debut album, "ZABA", which released in June of 2014.

Below is a video my friend Murari Parasu took when we and two other friends saw Glass Animals in concert in 2016. This is a short video of the band's performance of Pools. (You can follow my friends on Twitter and Instagram, I've linked them down below!)

For my project, I looked at chords for my favorite part of the song and created a horizontal line.
From here I took to google to find pictures of building that I felt fit the shapes created by the chords and created silhouettes of them. (The links of where I got each of the pictures can be found at the bottom of this post.)
My next step was putting each of the images together into one image to make my skyline.
While the fit of my created skyline is not exact with the chords, I changed the shape and dimensions of some of the buildings so that the skyline was not made up of just two shapes. I think this makes the design more interesting and dynamic. I really like the design because its balanced and while it may not look entirely impressive at a first glance the story behind the design is what makes it really interesting.
I decided to see what this design would look like as a fashion design, so I used Photoshop again to put the image of my skyline onto some hats.
I also played around with different colors for the skyline.
Finally, I filled my skyline with the artwork from the cover of "ZABA":
I thought that the last design would look really good as a graphic t-shirt design, so I created an example down below with it.
